Discover how God is working all over the world

2026 Mid-Year Global Update from Life on Life

Scroll

Each July, we like to share a little bit about what God is doing around the world through Life on Life Missional Discipleship. After all, when Jesus gave the Great Commission, He cast a vision that had a global reach.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV).

God has been faithful, and He continues to raise up disciple-makers in every corner of the world. Here are a few updates and stories from those disciples:

Discipleship Training Cohorts Around the World

We work with pastors and church leaders to coach them on leading life-on-life missional discipleship movements in their own churches.

We built our Training Cohorts to take a holistic, relational approach to equipping churches to make disciples. Too many discipleship conferences bring people together for a few exciting days and then send people on their way. Not us.

Our discipleship training cohorts last for 2.5 years and include three different in-person discipleship workshops, regular coaching calls, and guidance as you launch your own discipleship groups.

The Life on Life Training Process

Over the past twelve months, several discipleship training cohorts have taken place in various cities and countries around the world:

  • Atlanta, GA
  • California
  • Guatemala
  • Peru
  • South Africa
  • Romania

Our team has also been on relational visits with existing partners…

  • Philippines
  • Poland
  • Malaysia
  • Egypt

and we’ve been exploring the possibilities of new partnerships and training cohorts.

  • Croatia
  • Bosnia
  • Serbia
  • London
  • Slovenia
  • Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Surabaya, Indonesia
  • Zambia
  • Kenya

Our Envisioning sessions are in-person workshops where the Life on Life team helps local churches and leaders “envision” what discipleship transformation looks like in their context.

  • Uganda (two times)
  • Singapore
  • Ireland (Scheduled for this fall)
  • Turkey (scheduled for October)

One of the most exciting developments has been taking place in Brazil. Local churches have launched 17 new training cohorts on their own throughout the country. They have been equipped to make disciples, and now they are equipping others to do the same.

We are supporting their work by providing strategy, best practice, and we are also in the process of helping to translate the Journey Curriculum online into Portuguese. Later this year (October 2026) we plan to host 25 Brazilian Pastors and their Spouses for a weeklong Equipping Workshop.

If you are interested in learning about any of these upcoming cohorts or envisioning sessions, contact us at support@lifeonlife.org.

Translating the Journey

We’ve already mentioned the translation work happening for Brazil, but we have many more translation projects happening. The Journey Curriculum is our discipleship platform that engages the five elements of T.E.A.M.S™: Truth, Equipping, Accountability, Mission, and Supplication.

The print version of the curriculum has been available in English for decades and is also now available in a convenient, customizable online version

The Journey is also available in several additional languages. Today, discipleship groups can experience The Journey in the following languages:

  • English
  • Chinese
  • Spanish
  • Tagalog
  • Portuguese
  • Hindi

In addition, we are in the process of translating The Journey into several more languages:

  • Romanian
  • Ugandan
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Thai
  • Malay
  • Vietnamese

Over the last year, we have completed 41 resource translation projects and 94 more are in progress today.

New Resources

The Life on Life team continues to invest in creating new resources and updating our existing ones. For instance, we have rewritten the Journey “Mission” sections and are updating our Evangelism materials.

Randy Pope released his latest book, titled Inviting Faith: Foundations and Tools for Making Disciples. This new book is an essential guide for Christians seeking to share their faith with confidence in today’s culture. The book equips readers with foundational knowledge and time-tested tools that have been used around the world across different cultures, ethnicities, and languages. Drawing on content previously taught in evangelism training classes, Randy shares real-life stories of those who experienced the excitement of newfound faith and how it transformed their lives.

Prayer Opportunities

If we look back to the words of the Great Commission, we are reminded that it is the authority of Jesus that enables us to make disciples. We ask you to pray for us and the many churches around the world who are seeking to make more disciples and teach others to do the same.

Here are some specific prayer needs:

  • Travel and upcoming Envisionings: pray for churches to show interest and excitement for a long term training process to be equipped in disciple making and training.
  • For partner churches: We are always seeking more churches that would have a vision to partner with us, equipped to train other churches themselves.
  • For translation efforts: We don’t just want a strict translation, but are trying to adapt and localize for the culture and heart of each people. This is particularly true in lower literacy areas.
  • The Journey Online: Pray for wisdom and resourcing as this expands into other countries, starting with a Portuguese version in Brazil.
  • Wisdom for the Life on Life team:  Please pray for us, that as our team grows and we seek to equip people around the world to make disciples that God would grant us wisdom and understanding as we seek to follow the model of Jesus.

Conclusion

This is an exciting time to be a part of the ministry of Life on Life. Several hundred churches have completed the training, and we have over 150 churches currently involved in the training process across 6 different continents.

God is doing amazing work all over the world to see His Great Commission fulfilled. We consider it a great privilege to play some small role in the making and training of disciples.

If you are a church looking to get involved, please contact us for upcoming opportunities.

If you are an individual or organization who would like to support these efforts, then please pray for us and consider donating to Life on Life to help fund future translations, training materials, cohorts, and more!
