Making & Training Disciples Life-on-Life

The term “discipleship” is not found in Scripture. However, the word “disciple” is often used. It simply means “follower.” Though the word “discipleship” means different things among Christians, at Life on Life, we see discipleship as a process with two distinct focuses: the "making" and the "training" of disciples. Discipleship is anything that helps someone follow Jesus, whether that is moving them from unbelief to belief and/or belief to maturity.

Making Disciples

It is not uncommon to be at a conference on “discipleship” and never hear any presentation that addresses leading lost people to Christ – a very important aspect of discipleship. Hopefully, by highlighting the “making,” both will get equal attention. In this brief booklet, Randy Pope gives insights from years of personal disciple making experience to show that anyone can be a disciple maker in our culture today.

Training Disciples

In conversations with pastors around the world, there is a shared frustration with failed ministry models and a longing for hearts and lives to be changed. In this brief booklet, Randy Pope tells the story of how Life on Life discipleship began at Perimeter Church. He introduces T.E.A.M.S., the operating system for Life on Life. T.E.A.M.S., coupled with life-on-life relationships, has proven to be a difference-maker. Over the years, there have been many men and women who have become mature and equipped followers of Christ. There is no better time than now to bring life-on-life discipleship back to the local church.
